Associate Degree in Nursing

Program Information

The Associate in Science Degree in Nursing is one-year program designed for students who are licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and meet all other admission requirements. Students integrate the concepts of health promotion and health maintenance that reflect Dorothea Orem’s self-care model, into the practice setting. The integration of theory and practice provide students with experiences that enhance their current level of knowledge and skill and elevate them to their highest learning potential. The program prepares students to meet the demands of an increasingly competitive and intellectually challenging future. Clinical exposure includes rotations in critical care, community service and experiences with nurse practitioners. Students are dually admitted into Wilmington College’s bachelor of science in nursing program. Graduates are prepared to take the NCLEX-RN exam at the end of the year.
