Glass Center - Facility

Flameworking 2007
2007 Flameworking Conference

The Glass Center, which opened in 1999 to rave reviews from glass technicians and glass artists, offers 20 student workstations. Students work with a wide array of glassblowing equipment: four lathes, tooling bench, high vacuum system, annealing ovens and a variety of cutting and grinding equipment.

The 5,000-square-foot facility also features an elevated gallery, named in honor of SCC distinguished alumnus Paul J. Stankard, for the display of glass art and scientific glass technology pieces.

In addition to offering credit courses, Salem Community College utilizes the Glass Center for professional development courses and the International Flameworking Conference.
