New Pathways to Teaching in New Jersey - An Alternate Route to Teacher Certification
NPTNJ Information Session(s):
Thinking of becoming a teacher? Already have a bachelor’s degree but lack teacher certification? Did you achieve a GPA of 2.75 or higher with your bachelor’s degree? If so, Salem Community College has the program designed with you in mind! New Pathways to Teaching in New Jersey is a statewide initiative in partnership with New Jersey City University and the New Jersey Department of Education. The program -- divided into two stages -- provides an alternate route to teacher certification to qualified candidates. An exciting and unique component of this year-long training is the opportunity to earn 15 graduate credits through NJCU! Employment as a teacher is not required for Stage I but will be required for Stage II. Classes begin in July. SCC will hold information sessions on:
Thursday, February 21, 2008 – 5:30 to 7:00 – Session held at SCC Salem Center
Tuesday, March 4, 2008 – 5:30 to 7:00 – Session held at SCC Salem Center
