John Jacobs joined the Salem Community College coaching staff in fall 2007. He is preparing for the men’s soccer team inaugural season in 2008.
“Coaching has been a passion of mine for many years,” said Jacobs. “I appreciate the opportunity given to me by Salem Community College. I am excited to be coaching at the college level. There is a lot of soccer talent in South Jersey and I hope to bring some of it to SCC.”
Jacobs is a graduate of Glassboro State College (Rowan University) where he earned a bachelor of arts in 1966 and a master of arts degree in 1971. While attending Glassboro State, he played soccer, basketball and baseball.
Before coming to Salem Community College, Jacobs taught in the West Deptford and Woodbury school districts where he initiated the soccer programs in both schools. He also was the assistant soccer coach at Glassboro State while he earned his master of arts degree.
Jacobs resides in Clarksboro with his wife Terry. He has two children, Travis of Wilmington, N.C. and Taylor of Sea Isle City, N.J.

Kevin C. Foley joined the Athletic Department staff in February, 2008. Shortly thereafter Kevin was hired to be the Assistant Men’s Soccer coach for their inaugural first season at Salem Community College. He is looking forward to working with the goalies and assisting Coach John Jacobs throughout the season.
“Soccer is a very important passion of mine, and to get to coach soccer on a collegiate level is a great opportunity for me to be around the game I love. I’m very excited about working with Coach Jacobs and getting this Men’s program off the ground.”
Kevin joins SCC after recently graduating from Rutgers University in October, 2007. There he majored in Exercise Science and focused on Sports Management. While in college he was very involved in the intramural soccer programs. Before graduating Kevin worked for MSNBC in their Marketing Department assisting their creative services team generate new ideas for promos and events.
In addition to being the assistant coach for the Men’s Soccer team, Kevin has also been a very important asset to the Athletics Department. Working closely with Assistant Athletic Director, Steve Piccirillo, Kevin has revised and updated much of the recruiting letters and paperwork, helped plan and coordinate special events, and even travel with the teams.
Kevin resides in Pennsville, New Jersey.
